How to Deal My Irrational Mother Who Doesn't Listen?

by Bella
(Wisconsin)

I am getting married in September.
My mother has no money. She agreed to make shawls for my 2 bridesmaids and my future mother in law.

This morning, she called and dropped the following bombshell:

"Since you haven't called and I have to constantly call you, your shawl will be done next week.
I am not making the shawls for the bridesmaids."

Why didn't I call?
Two weeks prior she called and ranted for 15 minutes about a family issue.
I felt she wasn't listening to what I had to say for she kept on going on and on about the same issue.

The family issue "will no longer be discussed between you and I or between your brother and I".

I work full time at a stressful job.
She is retired.
This was her way of contributing to my wedding.

So, what do I do?
