My relationship with HER

by Alyssa

I'm 14 years old, in the 8th grade and my mom and I - our relationship is horrible. I'm talking horrible!

We fight pretty much everyday over the smallest things.
Isn't it that a mom is there for you to cry on, get advice from or basically just give you love, and be your bestfriend?

Well my mom is the totally opposite!!!
She nags and complains about everything I do, like nothing is ever good enough.

I spend most of my time during the week in my room, on the computer or studying.

I never want to interact with her often because I hate the way she acts.

On the weekends im always gone never home and she asks why - I consistantly tell her because of her attitude it really makes me not want to associate with her.

But then just just starts another fight!
I really don't know what to do anymore - I try to ignore her and keep my mouth shut for example in the car.
When she asks me questions I give her clear few word answers.
Like if she asks me if I have volleyball practice i say yes till' 6.
Or just short, dull answers.
Obviously that bothers her too, like I said before nothing is ever good enough for her.

Today, when I got home from practice I was dead tired, she asked me if I could clean up the bathroom because we were having a gathering this weekend.

It is very often she asks me to clean or do chores.
So I went ahead and cleaned the bathroom SPOTLESS.
I cleaned the mirror with windex, and even went out of my way to have my dad pick up special granite top cleaner just to make her happy.
I washed the rugs and bleached the toilet.

When she got home from shopping, she didn't even notice. and its been 2 days now, i still haven't gotten a thank you.

But whatever, I'm done trying to impress her and I'm fed up with her attitude.

I only have 3 1/2 more years to go, I've been here 14 years already and hanging out the coming years that won't kill me right.
